A :If you are connecting to FinNet using a PABX phone
line, you may switch to a direct phone line for retry
as the phone signal quality provided is more stable.

: We cannot access FinNet website but we have verified
that our connection to both FinNet and Internet is working
fine. We have Microsoft Proxy Client 2.0 installed on
the PC. Is It related ? |

A : Such problem is usually found on PCs with dual
LAN card configuration for both internal network/Internet
and FinNet access (not officially supported by FinNet).
The root cause of problem is the Microsoft Proxy client
redirecting all http traffic to the Proxy server not
connecting to FinNet. To solve the situation, Microsoft
Proxy Client 2.0 should not be used.

: What kind of security features are available on FinNet
? |
|
A : FinNet adopts layered security approach on the
participant router ends, core network and the FinNet
Server Farm. Security features applied on FinNet including
access control, router and firewall protection, use
of encryption, support of PKI, physical protection,
operations control and real-time monitoring etc.

setting up a FinNet Mail Gateway ? |

A : The main function of FinNet Mail Gateway is to
perform email exchange among FinNet participants and
carry out encryption/decryption of emails. The hardware
configuration of mail gateway depends on the volume
of emails expected. The minimum configuration recommended
is:

: Can I use my corporate IP addressing scheme instead
of the Net 10 FinNet proposed ? |
|
A : No, FinNet participants must use Net 10 IP addresses
assigned to connect to FinNet. Non-Net 10 IP addresses
are not routable on FinNet. However, participants
can consider to use Network Address Translation (NAT)
devices to translate their corporate IP addresses
to FinNet proposed addresses.

: Any prevention effort made in FinNet to prevent from
hacking e.g. Denial of Service attack ? |
|
A : FinNet is installed with a real time Network Management
System which can monitor any abnormal activities such
as DoS attack and can terminate the leased line in
which the source of attack originating from if required.
Moreover, FinNet backbone is specially configured
to only allow certain type of traffics to pass through
and any invalid traffics will be dropped.

: Can Internet access be enabled on FinNet ? |
|
A : FinNet is completely isolated from Internet because
of security consideration. Hence, access Internet
through FinNet is not enabled.

: What types of connectivity can be supported through
FinNet ? |
|
A : There are several ways to connect to FinNet ranging
from causal dial-up to fully redundant permanent connection.
For permanent connection, the speed ranges from 64K
up to E1 and participants can also choose between
single and dual connections. On the client side, participants
can have single or multiple workstations or connect

A : Virtual Private Network is supported on FinNet.

A : In order to comply with FinNet security standard,
ASPs are required to follow a set of security guidelines.
Basically, ASPs have to install a firewall between
FinNet and ASPs¡¦ servers to prevent improper traffics
from entering FinNet and vice versa. For more detail

A : Yes. However, since the default setting of FinNet
routers blocks non-standard ports for security reason.

|
A : No, FinNet will only monitor the availability
of equipment and leased lines. All content transmitted
on FinNet will not be monitored or captured.

A : It is the decision of the users and/or service
providers to decide whether to use data encryption
technology or not. What FinNet provided is on optional
network session encryption using 128-bit SSL technology.
